Our priorities:

• Promote prevention — across the continuum — and advocate for investments in evidence-based services and strategies.
• Engage communities and strengthen the parent-child bond through our Nurture and Protect from the Start strategies so infants and young children are nurtured, protected and ready to learn.
• Raise awareness and foster urgency about child abuse fatalities and near-fatalities, in part, through the interdisciplinary study of these sentinel events. Identify trends and respond to recommendations that, if implemented, can improve the safety, well-being and permanency of Pennsylvania’s infants and children.
• Explore the potential in administrative and population-based data and research to more effectively target prevention and intervention services.
• Promote the effective reporting and accurate diagnosis of child abuse, including by advocating for expanded access to specialized intervention services.
• Advocate for child-centered and trauma-informed practices that promote healing and advance justice, including the degree to which alternative child testimony options are utilized.
• Assure informed and consistent interpretation, implementation and measurement of the impact of Pennsylvania’s historic child protection reforms enacted in 2013 and 2014.
